I am Rae, a 38-year-old single mother. I am a child abuse and neglect survivor and a childhood sexual assault survivor; I have had to overcome many unspeakable things. More times than I care to count, I have survived domestic violence and rape.

As a child, I took care of my siblings and ailing grandmother, in addition to the household and pets. I was a mini-mother. I was never a child. Because I lacked education, I had children early, unaware of my options or my ability to say no, which led to my never experiencing life independently or escaping abuse. Raising my children alone was often a hardship. They had their own struggles and disabilities and would frequently become violent and abusive. They have attempted to harm and kill me several times.

My goal will help me survive as I recover from my many surgeries needed to fix my mouth and jaw, as well as help me put a down payment on a home where I can be safe and stable. If possible, some funds may be used to pay some of my tuition so I can finish my BA.

I need help to make my dream come true and to finally live life for myself, free of abuse.
