Raelynn was just eight years old when she contracted Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), a rare and devastating illness. She was comatose for four months & sent home still in a coma. She is now confined to a wheelchair, she cannot speak, requires 24 hour care, therapy several times a week & suffers from silent seizures that further her debilitating condition. Now, at ten, she continues to fight every day, but our resources have run out.
Raelynn Deborah Bowen is my beloved granddaughter, and we share a close bond as we live in the same community. Her mother, my daughter, is a single mom facing immense challenges—she has no job, no home of her own, and receives only minimal support from SNAP and Medicaid. With three younger daughters to care for as well, our family has been stretched to its limits.
We are seeking help to cover the many expenses that come with Raelynn’s care. As she grows into a pre-teen, she needs special equipment to support her changing needs. Her dietary requirements are constantly evolving, and she requires additional medications to manage her condition. Housing costs and the need for proper therapy three times a week add to the financial strain. Despite these challenges, Raelynn remains strong and resilient, surrounded by the love of her family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to support our family. Every donation, every share, and every kind word means more than we can ever express. Your generosity brings real relief during a time that has tested us in every way, and it reminds us that we are not walking this road alone. Because of you, Raelynn has a brighter path ahead. Her journey with ADEM is long and unpredictable, but she is strong and fighting, and she is surrounded by love—including yours. Your support gives her the chance to keep healing, keep growing, and keep moving toward the future she deserves. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in her and giving our family hope.
