Jordan and Gabi Taylor, beloved members of the Grayslake Central High School community, are facing an unimaginable challenge as their young daughter Raelyn recovers from a medical emergency. Just a few weeks ago, Raelyn began showing signs of illness—she was barely walking and seemed unusually tired. After several doctor visits and no clear answers, a pediatrician referred them to a neurologist. On September 9th, the family went to the children’s hospital in Chicago, where a CT scan revealed a dangerous buildup of fluid in Raelyn’s brain. She was taken into emergency surgery, to drain the fluid. While she was under they did more testing. The next day the tests showed a baseball sized tumor in the brain. After a six-hour operation, the tumor was removed, but Raelyn’s journey is far from over.
Raelyn now faces a long road to recovery, including radiation and multiple types of therapy to help her regain her speech, vision, and motor skills. The Taylors are doing everything they can to support their daughter, but this is a very challenging time. Jordan and Gabi are balancing time at the hospital with work, but neither receives paid time off, making it even harder to manage expenses. The costs of medical care, rehabilitation, and travel between Grayslake and Chicago is a lot.
This fundraiser is dedicated to helping the Taylor family focus on what matters most: Raelyn’s recovery. Every donation will go directly toward medical bills, therapy, and essential living expenses during this difficult time. Your support will make a real difference for Raelyn and her family as they navigate the challenges ahead and hope for a speedy recovery.
