This past weekend, our dear friend Raelyn and her beloved pup Rosie experienced a devastating accident. On Friday, two trees fell and crushed her home and her car. Miraculously, the position of her car in the driveway saved her life as the trees crashed through the roof, right where she was working inside her home. The impact was so intense that both Raelyn and the other person in the house needed X-rays and are suffering from whiplash.
Raelyn and Rosie are looking for temporary housing until their home is safe to return to but she is fighting insurance all along the way. Once she managed the emergency last Friday with first responders, the City, tree and debris removal, and roofers, she now has a tarped roof and a tarped car. The North Carolina Law states that where a tree falls is the responsibility of the homeowner in which it fell onto. During this challenging time, let’s rally around Raelyn as she navigates this uncertain period.
Raelyn has been a pillar of strength and support for so many of us, including myself. Her compassion, wit, humor, and kindness have touched countless lives within our community. Now, it’s our turn to give back. If you can, please consider donating, sharing this GoFundMe page, or sending her a kind message. Your support, in any form, would mean the world to her and Rosie.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Much love,
Mar
