Support Rachel's Treatment and Recovery

My name is Bri, and I am fundraising for my beautiful sister Rachel Green who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Our Mom is a breast and cervical cancer survivor and with a strong family history Rachel and I both proactively were tested for the BRCA gene. While I was positive, Rachel was negative. You all can imagine the shock and devastation we felt when we learned about her diagnosis since we thought we had taken steps to identify our risk.
Thankfully, Rachel was proactive in doing her self screening breast exams and noticed a lump. She quickly sought evaluation for what she found and to say we were blindsided by her diagnosis is an understatement. Her diagnosis was not the news any of us wanted, but we are thankful for the speed of her medical team in getting her treatment started.
Rachel has Stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This particular type accounts for 10-15% of diagnosed breast cancers and is one of the most aggressive forms. Because of this, Rachel has begun chemotherapy 1x a week for the next 6 months. Following this first round, she will be having a double mastectomy, and then will have another 6 months of chemotherapy and radiation because of the cancer having moved into a lymph node.
My sister is not defined by cancer. She has a beautiful spirit, infectious personality and has been a fighter her entire life. Rachel is a nurse, a wife, and an amazing mother to her two daughters, Bella (9) and Sophia (7). Her husband, Dan, is a Citadel graduate and has been a police officer in the Charleston area for the last 13 years. I have seen them both strive to take care of their community and selflessly contribute to those in need.
This next year is going to be a very long journey, and a very expensive road. While there is a lot that we can't control or 'fix', my hope is that our donations will make this process a little less daunting for Rachel and Dan. Each donation will go towards her healthcare needs that are already multiplying. Please donate what you are able and share.
I know I speak for Rachel, Dan and our entire family when I say we cannot thank you enough for your selfless act. Your support for our girl during this very difficult time is such a gift and we are forever grateful for your support, generosity, and love.
{Whenever my busy thoughts were out of control, the soothing comfort of your presence calmed me down and overwhelmed me with delight.

We know our God is mighty. We know our God is a healer. We know our God hears our prayers.}
