If you don't know me, I'm Rachel and I've lived in Florida since 1990. I've been in New Port Richey since 2007.

My birthdays have been challenging the last few years. 37 brought an end to my marriage after the death of my grandmother. 38 I planned a trip to Omaha to see my parents that turned into a mad dash to escape a hurricane that followed us to Orlando. 39 surprised me with an accident that left my partner with 3 broken bones in his ankle and months of recovery. And here's 40. I'll be starting my 40s on Thursday, October 3rd, with almost no possessions, no clothes, no home, and a new car lease because I lost all of the equity in the lease I was going to purchase at the end of the contract in a month.

Ground zero. Helene hit that reset button on my life so hard. Everything I've built in the last few years since the last reset is gone. I watched the floodwaters destroy my home and belongings. But we made it out with our lives and tomorrow is another day....

My friends and family are so incredible. Seriously, all of you are rockstars and I've been so humbled and overwhelmed by the offers of support.
