After my mother's partner passed, it has been a sad and challenging year for the Silao girls. Following this loss, Rachel hasn't been able to recover and adapt to a life without Lee, and it has put her in very vulnerable positions with the decline of her mental and physical health.

For instance, without their combined fixed income, she was unable to maintain her month car payments, and her car was repossessed. She owes the difference from what it sold for at auction.

I am doing my best to help her secure safe and affordable housing, yet there are so many more unexpected costs we are finding on this journey.

She needs a fresh start. A new bed that is truly hers. New furniture that is not as old as I am that is sinking in the middle and stained from years of wear and tear.

I am starting this fundraiser to help her make sure all i's are dotted and t's are crossed, and so she can find hope and security once again.
