For Igor and Masha 2020 began with the most dreadful news a parent could fathom...
Their 2.5 year old daughter, Rachel was diagnosed with cancer (Wilms Tumor). They noticed a bulge on the side of her abdomen and took her to the emergency room on January 1st. She was admitted and received surgery to remove the rapidly growing tumor on her kidney.
By God’s grace, the surgery went well and they were able to remove the kidney and tumor intact. Ahead of them lies a long road of recovery and a treatment plan of chemotherapy.
Masha and Igor are both taking time off work to care for their daughter full-time as she recovers from the extensive surgery. This is just the beginning of many long hours of praying, waiting and hoping... At a time like this, the worry for the health of their daughter is overwhelming and financial burdens for the out of pocket expenses weighs heavily on top of all the ordinary ones.
