Support Rachel's Brave Fight Against Cancer

On July 8, 2025, the day that our sweet baby girl Rachel turned 6 months old, we were told that she had a mass located above her kidney. As our denial set in the team of doctors at Primary Children's hospital assured us that they would do everything in their power to help our little girl live a long and healthy life. Heartbroken and bewildered we looked to the next steps. Rachel would undergo two major abdominal surgeries over the next three days. The surgeries were to remove as much of the tumor as possible, rule out any additional cancer sites, and prep little Rachel for the chemotherapy that she would most certainly need. Our stay at Primary Children's hospital lasted over a week and half as we helped Rachel recover from her surgeries and get back to her smiley self. The diagnosis came back and it was confirmed that our baby girl had a cancerous tumor called a Neuroblastoma. Additional tests concluded that the cancer had not spread to any other portion of her body, and we were given a great prognosis. With approximately 50% of the tumor removed in surgery, Rachel started her first cycle of chemotherapy on July 22nd. She handled it like the fighter she is and we are here to assist her in the coming days. At this time she will undergo at least two cycles of chemotherapy, but it is still unknown how many cycles she will need in total. She is so strong and has an amazing support group between loving family and friends who are behind her.

We would also be amiss if we didn't recognize the incredible caregivers at Primary Children's hospital. These individuals are called by a higher power to look over our children. We received the most incredible care, love, and consideration from everyone who spoke to us. To the doctors, surgeons, nurses, and techs who looked over our baby girl, we thank you and we will never be able to repay you for the care that you provided, and will continue to provide for our little girl.
