Two years ago, Rachel’s life changed forever. She experienced a rare and sudden uterine abruption that nearly took her life. Tragically, as a result of that medical emergency, her baby girl, Charli, did not survive.
Since that time, Rachel has been on a long and incredibly difficult journey—physically, emotionally, and mentally—working toward healing while continuously advocating for herself medically. After nearly two years of navigating appointments and battling insurance, she was finally able to see a specialist at the University of Washington. Following an extensive review of her case and multiple tests, the medical team agreed that Rachel is a surgical candidate. She is scheduled to undergo surgery at the end of February.
This surgery is intended to repair the damage from her uterine rupture and address a rare uterine anomaly. Most importantly, it offers Rachel a chance to safely carry a child to viability in the future, with a significantly reduced risk of loss.
In addition to medical costs not covered by insurance, this process requires travel to and from Seattle for surgery, multiple follow-up appointments, and ongoing care during recovery. Between travel expenses, time away from work, and post-surgery recovery costs, the financial burden has continued to grow.
This surgery represents hope—for healing, for closure, and for the possibility of becoming a mother one day. Any donation will go directly toward medical bills, travel expenses, and recovery-related costs, allowing Rachel to focus fully on healing.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or keeping Rachel in your thoughts means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for any support you’re able to give. Your kindness truly means more than words can express.
