Supporting Rachel & Jeremy’s Fight Against Cancer

Dear family, friends, and community,

As many of you know, our family has been navigating an incredibly heavy and difficult chapter this year. We are a family that prides itself on strength and resilience, but right now, we are facing an unfathomable situation and need to lean on the village around us.

A Double Diagnosis-

Our world was first shaken earlier this year when Rachel was diagnosed with stage one thyroid cancer. In February, she underwent surgery to have her thyroid removed. While Rachel is as strong as ever, her journey is far from over—she still requires consistent, long-term medical oversight to ensure she stays in the clear.

Then, just a few weeks ago, we received a second devastating blow. Jeremy was diagnosed with two distinct types of cancer, stage three: colorectal cancer and a neuroendocrine carcinoma tumor.

We are incredibly grateful that Jeremy is under the care of an amazing oncologist in Brewer who is directly affiliated with the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He is in the best possible hands, but the road ahead is long, going between Brewer and Boston.

Through all of this, our absolute priority is keeping life as normal, stable, and joyful as possible for Rachel and Jeremy’s family.

But fighting cancer on two fronts comes with a massive logistical and financial burden. The costs are mounting rapidly already:

• Travel Expenses: Frequent trips from Maine to Boston for specialized care, lodging, and gas.

• Medical Bills: Copays, deductibles, and treatments not fully covered by insurance.

• Lost Wages: Time away from work for appointments, surgeries, and recovery days.

• Daily Cost of Living: Managing the everyday needs of a household and children while focusing on healing.
