On February 19th a dear friend of mine and her son were in a terrible car accident. They were hit head on by a drunk driver in Brownsvalley Ca. on Marysville rd. Adam was transported to UC Davis by ambulance, he is out of the hospital and doing ok, he’s just bruised up, has a concussion, and a fractured wrist. Unfortunately Rachel was life flighted to Rid-out then transported again by life flight to UC Davis late last night for surgery.

Most people in our community know Rachel Birge. She is an amazing Wife, Mother to four, sister, daughter and friend to many.

UPDATE from Rachel’s sister:

Rachel is in critical condition, she is waiting for CT for another head scan she has a brain bleed that they are watching. Chest tubes on both sides, 1-5 rib fractures on right which still need surgery. 1,6,11 on left rib fx. She had abdominal surgery for a grade 3 liver laceration and grade 2 spleens laceration to stop her internal bleeding, had surgery on her femur, she still needs surgery on her tibia, rt humerus, radius and elbow so her arm needs repaired!

It’s going to be a long road to recovery for Rachel that’s why I am making this go fund me to ask our community, family and friends to please help, anything matters even if it’s just a share or a prayer. Derek her husband is doing everything he can to navigate being off work and commuting back and forth to UC Davis to be with Rachel. They also have two younger kiddos to be cared for during this hard time. Thank you for sharing, praying or donating!
