The community of Williston, ND, and friends and family of Rachael Stewart have asked how they can help our dear friend, Rachael, and her children who have experienced many years of catastrophic events. Her husband, Ian Stewart, is an ex Marine Recon who broke his neck 10 years ago with a 7-vertebrae spinal fusion and a traumatic brain injury. Six years ago they lost their four-year-old son to a brain tumor. Two years later, Ian lost his best friend to a brain aneurysm. All of these events have taken their toll on Ian, who has now been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, PTSD and TBI.
The detrimental emotional and mental impacts have led to the loss of their business, which was their livelihood. Ian's symptoms have escalated to the point that he is incarcerated for an indefinite period of time, leaving her as the sole caregiver and provider for their seven children.
Her support group feels it is best to help by granting Rachael and the kids the ability to maintain a simple lifestyle of shelter, food, and support while Ian's family leans on the VA to get the proper help to successfully get him back to the man we all knew before. Your compassion and generosity could provide stability and hope for this family until Rachael is able to find a job suitable to support her family for the unseeable future.
