Hi, my name is Lynaska Morales. On April 23, 2026, my little brother Israel Arturo Morales Benitez, aka “QUIYTO,” suffered a tragic motorcycle accident. He had just left the house on his motorcycle to go to the store to buy his daughter something she needed for school the next day. Not even five minutes later, a drunk driver made an illegal turn, impacting my brother and sending him flying, hitting an electric fence, and subsequently hitting the ground. The man that hit my brother continued to drive until he could not drive anymore because the bike was stuck under his car. Meanwhile, he made several attempts to leave the scene and walked to his house according to some witnesses at the scene. The police allegedly waited 45 minutes or more to administer the sobriety test. My brother lay on the ground for about 25 minutes until first responders arrived from the town over because our town doesn’t have an ambulance service. He was transported to the nearest hospital and airlifted to the only trauma center in Puerto Rico.
My brother suffered two broken legs, two broken arms, a broken sternum, a broken pelvis, and many other injuries. MY BROTHER IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE! My family and I are going through a very difficult time. Quiyto is loved by everyone; he is humble, generous, and full of life. He is a great father, husband, son, brother, and friend. This is going to be a long way to recovery and many expenses to come, but we know that God is holding his hand and not letting go. In addition, my mother is diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure. She has not being eating or sleeping since the day of the accident. She refuses to leave the hospital and as consequence of everything she has gone thru she fainted and is now herself hospitalized. Her blood pressure and sugar levels are extremely low and she is now hospitalized. The hospital is two hours away from the town we are from, this makes it even harder for my family financially, emotionally and physically to be there. We are humbly asking for any help you can provide to my brother and his family in such a difficult time. Thank you!
