Hi, my name is Quinton M. West. WOW, so much bad luck in such a short time. I moved to Victoria, VA on 11-17-2023. The reason is to spend my last years with all 4 of my granddaughters, all under 5 years old. I'm 63 years old, maybe another 7 years, God willing.
The first month I moved into the apartment, there was a 3-inch sewage flood from upstairs. The management came and told the people above me to stop flushing their toilet. It was coming down my bathroom walls, out of my tub, and my sink, and my toilet. They would not stop flushing their toilet all night long. 3 inches of human waste destroyed my spinal mech and my breathing mech that was in the bathroom under the sink. Then it went all through the front of the apartment. The management told me that I should have had renter's insurance. My apartment is subsidized. I'm on SSI Disability; I can't afford renter's insurance. I lost all my medical equipment.
Then, two months later, I was taking winter clothes out of my closet. I noticed something black on the closet walls. Oh my God, it was in all my closets. Thick black mold. I had been inhaling this black mold for 3 months and I did not know this until it was too late. I had to throw all my clothes away because of mold spores. I went back to my family doctor and found out that I have an infection in my sinus, a black size in my nose. Then 3 months later, taking more meds for my nose, the black mold caused me to lose 70% of my left eyeball. I had to have eye surgery twice in 3 months. I had to wear an eye patch for 3 months. Once again, the front office said to me, I should have had renter's insurance.
My life here in Victoria, VA is I'm barely making it. I live alone. I needed those spinal mechs and breathing mech to stay alive, so now I am renting them, and I can't afford the bills for that. I only get SSI Disability. Medicare will not pay for them again because the mechs cost too much. All my clothes are gone. I have none. Please, I've worked all my life, really never needed help before. I don't know where to turn. If you can help me, sincerely, thank you. Quinton West.
