My name is Hilary Pine and I am raising funds for my nephew, Quincy Gutierrez, and his family: Mary, Greg, and Gregory Jr.
On February 19, 2025, Quincy was admitted to Fresno Community Hospital with multiple complaints, but of primary concern were swollen lymph nodes and a general feeling of fatigue and malaise. He underwent many invasive tests, ultimately leading up to a bone marrow biopsy. On February 26, 2025, Quincy was officially diagnosed with Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
This is a rare blood cancer, especially for such a young man. Quincy will turn 21 in June and has handled this news with such courage, strength, and grace. He will be an inpatient receiving chemotherapy for at least the next month. Once that is complete, he will need another bone marrow biopsy to check his progress, as well as multiple imaging studies and lab tests. There very well may be a stem cell transplant or bone marrow transplant in the future.
They are asking for donations to help supplement lost wages, assist with medical bills, help provide a small buffer for the family during this difficult time, and to help Quincy with outside expenses relating to his care. We also understand that most people are stretched thin financially due to a multitude of reasons. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing. The more visibility that we get, the more likely it is that others will see and perhaps contribute.
Quincy’s mom, Mary, reports that he is hanging in there but beginning to feel the side effects of such high-dose chemo. Quinn and his family are extremely active in their multiple church communities and would be so appreciative of your continued prayers. Please lift him up.
We are also asking that you donate blood if you are able. People fighting blood cancers require transfusions quite often and they rely on the kindness of strangers willing to donate.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and consideration. There is no amount too small and we appreciate all of you.
Thank you,
Hilary and Kristopher Pine
