Mutual Aid Call: Protect Our Queer Scholar & Activist
Two years ago, one of our community members survived a deadly car accident. That near-death moment became the push they needed to do the research they had thought of for over a decade: Chinese queer college student activism. In China, this work is silenced by censorship and repression, which is why they sought asylum here for safety.
Now, the state is targeting them with the same violence they fled. Their student visa has been revoked, and they are facing two felony “endangerment” charges that can mean prison time and deportation. We believe this is not a coincidence, but a trap designed to push them out.
They are fighting back with both a criminal attorney and an immigration attorney, but the cost is crushing. Here’s the breakdown:
*$4,500 total needed
*$2,000 already paid upfront on credit
*$500/month due starting Sep. 15th
*Full payment due Nov. 15th
This is more than one person can shoulder alone. This is why we need community. We are asking you to stand with them in this fight for safety, survival, and resistance.
Ways to support:
Donate: Every dollar brings them closer to staying safe and continuing their work.
Share: Spread this call to your networks, communities, and friends.
This is urgent. The deadline is Nov. 15th. Together, we can help them resist the harm that tries to silence queer voices.
No one fights alone. Please give, share, and hold them in your care.
Please note, for the student's safety, we are not disclosing the name to minimize state surveillance. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
