(VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL AQUÍ DEBAJO)

Hi! We’re Renzo Esposito (director), Alexander Guano (co-producer), and Alice Norrell (co-editor)—a team of queer filmmakers, activists, and storytellers working on Queer Latitudes, a docuseries about LGBTQ+ migration, identity, and resistance across Latin America. The first chapter, filmed in Ecuador, explores what it means to be queer and displaced in a country that is both a destination and a point of passage for many LGBTQ+ migrants. It dives into stories of survival, activism, and self-expression in the face of systemic exclusion and growing anti-LGBTQ+ backlash.

We’ve already begun editing and just released three trailers showcasing some of the powerful stories we’ve captured. Now, we’re raising funds to finalize the documentary and to create a digital visual archive—a long-term resource that will allow activists, educators, and communities to access extended materials, interviews, and testimonies. The project is based on 30+ in-depth interviews conducted across Ecuador with migrants, trans organizers, artists, and public figures working at the frontlines of change.

At a time when queer and trans people across Latin America face increasing violence, invisibility, and forced displacement, Queer Latitudes aims to make these stories visible, build cross-border solidarity, and challenge dominant narratives about who belongs and whose stories are worth telling.

Any amount you’re willing to contribute is deeply appreciated—and if you’re not able to donate right now, sharing this campaign with your friends and community would mean the world to us. Thank you for helping us bring these voices to light, and for standing with us in building a more just and visible future.

Meet the Team!

Renzo Esposito – Director, Cinematographer, and Co-Editor
Renzo Esposito is a queer filmmaker and cinematographer from Argentina, now based in New York City. His work explores vulnerability, identity, and transformation—often rooted in the poetic, the personal, and the in-between. Whether behind the camera or leading a production, he brings a multidisciplinary approach shaped by years of blending art, technology, and storytelling.

A recent graduate of NYU Gallatin, Renzo designed a concentration in cinematography, philosophy, and diversity. He is a full-tuition GUIDE Scholar and recipient of the Gallatin Human Rights Fellowship, which led him to volunteer with Diálogo Diverso in Ecuador. There, he began filming Queer Latitudes, documenting the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ migrants and activists across borders.

His previous documentary Talk Louder, about Holocaust survivor Michael Bornstein, has won over 10 international awards and was praised for its emotional depth and human rights focus. With Queer Latitudes, Renzo continues his commitment to stories that challenge dominant narratives and amplify voices that are too often unheard.

Alexander Guano Monteros – Co-Producer Ecuador Chapter & Human Rights Advocate

Expert in diversity, gender, and human rights, is a prominent advocate for human rights in Ecuador, focusing particularly on promoting and defending sex-gender diversity. During his tenure as Undersecretary for Diversities, he played a crucial role in creating and implementing public policies aimed at preventing and eradicating discrimination against the LGBTI+ population.

Among his most notable achievements, he led the implementation of the Action Plan for LGBTI+ Diversities (2022-2025), the first comprehensive public policy in Ecuador designed to safeguard the rights of this community. This plan includes concrete actions such as the nationwide establishment of "Gender and Diversities Roundtables" and the strengthening of historical social organizations through training and resource provision. Additionally, he promoted the collection of official data on the living conditions of LGBTI+ individuals, a vital tool for designing informed and effective governmental strategies. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's in Research on Human Rights, Democracy, and International Justice at the University of Valencia, Spain.

Alice Norrell, Co-Editor
Alice Norrell self-identifies as a queer biracial white and Latina woman. She is a recent graduate from the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she concentrated on the ethics of storytelling, documentary filmmaking, and the Spanish language. She has pursued academic, personal, and professional projects in film production and is especially passionate about uplifting the voices of women, queer, and Latino/a/e/x communities in her work.

-------------- ESPAÑOL --------------

¡Hola!
