Help Young Australian Filmmaker Follow Their Passion at NYU

Hi! My name is Char, I'm a queer filmmaker from Australia currently residing in NYC. I love to make films that showcase people's individual stories and give voices to people who are often voiceless, drawing out unseen narratives from everyday situations. Earlier this year I worked hard to get into NYU and was thrilled to learn I'd been accepted. I've been in the city for almost two months now and have started attending Tisch and it feels like I've finally found my people; I've never felt more at home or more like myself than I do when surrounded by my peers, exploring and learning the city and its stories. Unfortunately, my situation has changed recently and it is looking unlikely that I'll be able to afford to stay and pursue my dream. I worked incredibly hard to get to this point and am desperate to continue to expand my knowledge and be able to tell these stories in a place where I feel as if my own story is truly only just beginning. One day I hope to be able to pay this forward and help others with my talent and passion, but in order to do so, I need a little help. I'm grateful for all the support I've received throughout this journey and just want to try my hardest to allow it to continue.
