Q is a husband and father of an 8-year-old son and a 1-year-old son.
He's worked as a dog groomer for years until one day he got a shocking diagnosis that he's been fighting an unknown autoimmune disease his whole life with recent flare-ups starting around his firstborn.
The same day he got a diagnosis that he's been trying to uncover for years with different doctors, he was put on the Liver Transplant Recipient List at UNC Chapel Hill.
His wife was homeschooling their oldest and breastfeeding their youngest, so Q has been the main income source for a bit.
Once admitted to the hospital, Q received his liver transplant and is recovering right now; however, the daily living expenses are piling up. With his wife wearing many hats for the family, the main one being caregiver for Q and their youngest, working outside of the home to support their income needs, the hospital has advised against. Especially with his immunosuppressant medication he's on now, in flu season, with our oldest now in public school. It wouldn't be safe to introduce any new germs in the home unnecessarily.
We are both applying to remote jobs.
We would be so grateful for your help while we wait for several assistance programs to start while Q recovers.
The monthly immediate needs are:
rent, car payment, utilities, food, household needs and winter clothes for the kids.

~Thank you so much for helping the DePeza family with your donations!
You're appreciated.
