My love for storytelling began in childhood. With my parents balancing school and work, and my neighborhood unsafe for outdoor play, I created my own adventures, flying to the moon and swimming with sharks, all without leaving my house. By high school, I wanted to show my stories, not just tell them. So, I put down the comic books and started watching movies. I've always been captivated by how directors use lighting, sound, and costumes to convey emotion, and I knew I had to do the same. Since then, my short films have been recognized at state festivals, and internships with production companies have deepened my understanding of the industry. Film isn’t just a career; it’s what drives my creativity.
“Push and Pull” is a film that connects with me, as it is about a fresh graduate overcoming the struggles that come with leaving home. My mission is to promote stories that feel grounded in reality and provide context on how people overcome their internal conflicts. My dream is for my filmmaking to take me to a place where I can use my stories to reach people all over the world in a way that betters their lives. I firmly believe that the only way to get to this point is by putting my dream into practice.
With the proper funds, I will be able to provide the cast and crew with the proper facilities and resources to produce a quality result. This includes funds for office supplies (to print scripts and manage schedules), film equipment (for proper light and audio), crafty on-set (to accommodate cast and crew for each day of the shoot), as well as resources for costume and set design. We have set an ambitious goal of $5000, but together, I think we can get it done.
