Donation protected
Hello I am Anja-Sue Wilson. Our beautiful, intelligent, and strong 12 year old sickle cell warrior Purple Wilson is in the process of receiving her bone marrow transplant. Our sweet, courageous, generous 11 year old baby girl will be her donor. Purple was born with sickle cell disease SS. From day 1 it has been a rough road for us as a family.
She has experienced RSV, several bouts of pneumonia, contracted COVID twice,. She had her spleen removed at 2 years old and still the pain persists.
Within the past 2 years Purple health has really impacted her making and keeping friends, her zeal for life, her education, and her ability to just be the outgoing little girl she is. She has become too familiar with a life of chronic excruciating pain.
We are a family of 7 in the our home. We have 16 year old twins, Purple who is 12, and 11 year old twins Rain and Caleb.
I am disabled due to kidney failure. I received a transplant in 2016, June 2023 I went into failure again I’m now back on dialysis. I also had a mild heart attack in February, and my heart is functioning at 35%.
Since then my husband has been off from work to care for all of us. From all of our appointments, overseeing of medication, taking care of or home, He has really been a remarkable care giver.
We have absolutely no physical or financial help from anyone but my sister in law who is in a different state.
So please help us maintain our household during the long process.
Purple will start chemotherapy on April 18th and Rain will undergo surgery on the April 29th and Purple will then receive the bone marrow. Recovery may take 6- 12 months. Please help on focus on what matters Healing for our Purple and hope for a future without physical pain.
Also cards, gifts and well wishes are all appreciated.
With gratitude The Wilson Family
