Support Purna Devi's Family

Well, we could have never imagined we would be doing this, but here we are… In short, we need help. A miracle? Community support? A business partner? Something… and so, with pride aside and dissolving layers of ego and embarrassment: We. Are. Here. And we can no longer deny this truth…

For many reasons, the past year has been the most difficult year professionally since Covid. Ask any small business owner and they will likely tell you the same thing. my struggle is, sadly, not unique in these times and artists, creators, entrepreneurs and lots of other folks are struggling to make ends meet.

Personally, it has been the most challenging year and a half of our life. We were forced to make an unexpected and abrupt move in the fall of 2023, which drained our resources. In addition to some serious struggles at the beginning of 2024, we faced many other unexpected personal challenges, including an intense stress response of shingles, in which we were bedridden and off work for nearly a month.

Between business being slow and our private struggles, all year we have just been slowly and silently sinking into financial collapse.

Each month, we have been in a space of financial instability and uncertainty, barely scraping by, but this month we have hit our lowest point, unable to meet our monthly basic needs with the debts climbing and the bills continuing to stack.

We are facing losing our home, our animals, my son’s education, and my heart-centered business in which we have been serving the community through spiritual and mental health offerings for 15 years.

As a single mother, we receive no help from family. There’s no one to turn to except our beloved community in hopes there may be a way through as we work to slowly rebuild our life from the ruins of the past year and a half.

Our tank is empty. We have been selling off belongings, practicing detachment from material possessions, and if we must give it all up, this is a reality we will face with strength. Non-attachment is a fundamental spiritual teaching, and over the past year, God has been humbling us hard.

We have had seasons of abundance and have experienced drought before — but never to this level. We know that whatever comes is the will of Ishvara, God, the Divine, the Mother of all Creation.

So, as a final attempt to save our family and animals from homelessness and displacement, we are calling out to the community for help. Any funds donated will go directly to basic needs like rent, utilities, food, and Coen’s education.

While we know so many are struggling, if you have the resources and the interest in helping us manage over the next few months so we can continue rebuilding on more solid ground, we will be eternally grateful.

With gratitude,
Purna Devi

PS all that said, we believe deep in our soul that destruction is necessary for creation — there is not one without the other. So we have been using this time to rebuild and rebrand our business. We are adaptable and tenacious and see this dark night as merely time in the womb, being reborn. Therefore our new healing and community project THE WOMB - DAYTON is being birthed into creation as we speak. Please support our endeavors through this GOFUNDME, and also through the support of our heart-centered small business.

Go to thewombdayton.com for more information, register for a class, book yourself a 1:1 service, or donate directly to the business re-build through the site.
