On November 14, 2023, I adopted a 10-week-old kitten named Pumpkin. Since then, she has been the light of my life. She is the sweetest and cuddliest cat I have ever met. She loves to lay across your chest and purr right in your face and isn’t shy to tell you when she wants something her way.
The past couple of months, she had been displaying concerning behavior, such as over-grooming and lethargy. On August 5, she was brought to the vet again because she was no longer eating or moving from one spot in the kitchen. There, they informed us that her liver and spleen were enlarged and that she had to be kept overnight in an intensive care facility to run diagnostics, which cost more than $6,000. She thankfully did well overnight and was allowed to come home to rest and be looked after. However, we are still waiting on her liver and spleen biopsy results, and they do not know what could be wrong. They suspect it could be FIP, which is a usually fatal disease and would require her to be administered expensive daily medication and be under observation for months.
I love her more than words can describe and want to give her every possible chance she has at living a long and healthy life. Please help me make this possible for her.
