The Promontory Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is reaching out seeking support and assistance with the preservation of their recently acquired former Rio Grande SW1200, ex-DRGW #133. The #133 spent most of its Rio Grande career working Local Trains along the Wasatch Front. We are happy to announce that this historic locomotive was recently moved home, and is currently displayed at The Utah State railroad Museum in Ogden.
Donations will be used to:
- Preserve and enhance its original (1965) Rio Grande Paint.
- Address current rust issues, and prevent future rust issues.
- Mechanical Maintenance
- Acquire a new set of batteries to begin the process of returning it to operation.
The Promontory Chapter is dedicated to preserving the rich history of railroads and educating our community about their vital role in shaping our country. Your generous contributions will help keep this mission alive and thriving.
Every dollar counts, and together we can make a significant impact. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. Thank you for your support!
