Support our documentary collaboration with Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan – goal: $29,500

We’re Project Life, a patient-led nonprofit community for people living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC), also known as stage 4 breast cancer. This fall, we’re collaborating with an independent filmmaker to produce three powerful short documentaries and a 30-second commercial that tells the truth about life, the challenges, and living with MBC. We will also have the opportunity to break down myths and misconceptions about this stage of breast cancer; incurable and terminal.

The documentary will be aired nationwide in all 50 states on PBS stations, as well as CNN, MSNBC, Discovery, Hallmark, and the OWN channels for a full year.

Why We Need Your Help!

This is a huge project funded primarily by the filmmaker; however, we have the opportunity to own the rights to the documentary, which will be told in four ways - three short 4-8 minute segments, and one 30-second commercial. We will own all B-roll and be mentored on how to leverage this content to a wider audience.

This means we’ll be able to freely share, screen, and distribute the film(s) across our platforms, in advocacy spaces, and with partners — without restrictions.

This documentary will:

Bust myths and misconceptions about metastatic breast cancer

Center the voices of people living with stage 4 disease

Educate the public and medical community

Inspire understanding and compassion through real stories

Far too often, the MBC experience is overlooked or misunderstood. This film will help change that and your support makes it possible.

We have an amazing opportunity to have the voice(s) of MBC patients heard. Most breast cancer documentaries are based on early-stage experiences. The stage IV experience is very different, and the general public needs to know this.
