Caelus Rocketry - First HS Liquid Fueled Rocket

We are Caelus Rocketry, the first high school group to design and launch a liquid-fueled rocket to the edge of space!

Our mission at Caelus Rocketry is to design, build, test, and launch a bipropellant liquid-fueled rocket to the edge of space while also creating opportunities that introduce young kids to the ever-growing aerospace industry and teaching the community about the importance of STEM education in an increasingly technological world. Through our project, we hope to show young people that it’s possible to do something that has never been done before and that there is no age threshold to exploring science and pushing technological boundaries.

As a non profit organization and a team of 50+ high school students, we spend early mornings, late nights, and entire weekends working towards testing the Callisto I rocket engine and launching the Callisto 1 rocket. These are fundamental milestones in launching the first-ever high school liquid rocket engine to space in the next few years.

Our current goal is to perform a static engine fire of the Callisto I liquid rocket engine by August 2025. When accomplished, this will be a historic achievement and the first of its kind in a high school setting, demonstrating the ability for small-scale and inexpensive liquid rocket engines to be developed by amateur engineers.

Additionally, we hope that the unprecedented difficulty of our engineering and programming work feeds into our outreach initiatives. We work to educate students across the region at little, to zero cost in STEM fields. Our goal is that students across the world will see the success of Caelus Rocketry at such a monumental task and know that the boundaries of their age are malleable - with a bit of perseverance and determination, the stars are within reach.

We are seeking to raise $1,000 in the short term to directly fund all needed hardware to finish constructing our test stand and manufacturing our engine to test the Callisto I engine this August. Every minute of hard work and every dollar contributed brings us ever closer to our goal, and we are incredibly grateful for any support you may be able to offer.
