Support Professional Boxer Andre Marquez

Donation protected

Andre "the Little Giant" Marquez is a professional boxer fighting out of the 15th Round Boxing Gym in Los Angeles California. Troubled as a teen, he started boxing late in life at 17 years old and amassed an amateur record of 19-9. Needless to say, he wasn't a darling with the amateur program, nor did he have any Olympic hopes. That never deterred him and it only fortified his determination to prove to the top tier promoters; he has what it takes.

Fighting out of California, Andre often spars and mixes it up very well with fighters that have tasted glory and wrapped medals around their necks in events such as the Pan-Am games and the Olympics; fighters that are already signed with top promoters.

With hard work, grit, belief, discipline, love and guidance from his team along with the fervent support from his gym and their members; Andre turned pro in 5/10/19.  He lost a contentious debut in which he knocked down his opponent in the second round, but wasn't able to get his hand raised after those four rounds.

Undeterred and with the blood of a warrior, Andre went on to win his next 5 fights on the row with 3 big wins coming by way of KO.

Andre is currently ranked 500/1,553 featherweights in the world and 63/169 in the USA.

He was scheduled to fight his first six round fight on 4/4/20, but Covid had other plans for him and for the masses. Sports got cancelled around the globe and boxing was no exception. As boxing tries to make a comeback, the sport has changed and doesn't allow spectators in California. This will limit a lot of fighters who depended on ticket sales to get on cards. For them, it's not a question of a mere pay cut; but rather the ability to fight at all. For the lower level fighters that are talented, selling tickets was an integral, vital part of the game. Selling tickets offsets some of the extremely high costs (in the thousands) associated with getting on a card.

Carl Frampton said, "I know a lot who live purse to purse and on sponsorship deals which are small, local businesses." The former super bantamweight and featherweight world champion says those sponsors can no longer support the boxers due to the financial hit from the shutdown. "They are pulling out because they can't afford to do it anymore as they have to pay other bills," he said. "I feel privileged and lucky that I am in a position where I am not relying on the next purse to eat again. It sounds harsh but it's true. Hand on heart I feel genuinely sorry for these guys on the breadline for they have dreams and aspirations themselves. My genuine concern is they will have to give up on their dream of becoming champions."

Andre "the Little Giant" Marquez will never give up on becoming a champion. He had a loyal, die-hard fan base of 150+ that always purchased tickets to watch him fight. With Covid-19 and no audiences allowed, Andre and his team must pay - all out of pocket - to fight. A typical 4 round fight costs thousands of dollars and only gets more expensive when the fights become 6, 8 and 10 rounds (Andre is at this stage of his career). It's clear to see how Covid could end many boxing careers, but we're hoping it won't end Andre's.

Andre is scheduled to fight in Topeka on 6/6/20 and has no sponsors at the moment beyond the 15th Round Gym, his family and his loyal fans.  Andre and his team, are all going out of pocket with their life savings to buy a slot and go fight on this upcoming card. Travel costs, food, insurances, purses for opponents, hotels - are all being paid by team Marquez!

In donating (even $5) and sharing our campaign - should we hit our goal - it will guarantee that Andre will fight 1-3 times into the second year of his career. In his first year, he fought 6 times. The more we raise, the more fights we book. Please help support a brave fighter that deserves his opportunity to climb the rankings. 100% of funds donated will go to expenses associated with booking Andre his upcoming fights.

When you watch him fight, you'll understand his destiny.  And as the Spartans said; "η ταν η επι τας!"

You will be able to stream his fight live on 6.6.20 via: https://www.fite.tv/watch/never-surrender-release-the-beasts/2p799/
