Support Profe Andrés' AP Training in Madrid

I'm Profe Andrés and I just finished up my first year teaching Spanish at Encinal Jr./Sr. High School in Alameda, California. I am asking that you donate to my GoFundMe to fund an AP training in Madrid, Spain this summer that will help me continue to revitalize our Spanish program.

Encinal's Spanish program has suffered setbacks in the past couple of years, largely due to the departure of a couple of the school's long-term Spanish teachers as well as difficulties with staffing in the 2022–2023 school year. I was brought on for the 2023–2024 school year and I'm happy to report we are turning things around and revitalizing our Spanish offerings at Encinal.

Here's how you can be a part of that.

During the next school year, we will be bringing back AP-level Spanish. As a second-year teacher, I will need to attend a training this summer offered by a College Board affiliate. A local training runs $875, which Encinal/AUSD has the budget to cover, but Spanish is a unique subject area. My development as an instructor and the benefits and enrichments I can bring to my students next year can be greatly increased by attending the AP training taking place in Madrid, Spain in July. However, because this program includes additional enrichment opportunities, I will need to come up with $900 on top of what Encinal has the budget for, not including airfare and lodging.
