With heavy hearts and immense love, we are coming together to honor the memory of our beloved cousin and friend, Priyanka Kondi.

Priyanka, a bright and ambitious young woman from a small village near Kattangur Mandal in Nalgonda District, Telangana, came to the United States in January 2023 to pursue her dreams. A recent graduate of the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH), she had just completed her master’s degree and was in the process of building her future. She was on OPT (Optional Practical Training) and was actively searching for a job, filled with hope and plans to uplift her family and make a meaningful life for herself and her family.

All of those dreams were suddenly and tragically taken away.

On May 5, Priyanka was rushed to the Huntsville Emergency Room with alarming symptoms. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)—a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and leads to an overproduction of abnormal white blood cells.

Due to the urgency of her condition, she was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Tragically, during the transfer, her brain suffered severe internal bleeding, causing her to lose consciousness. Despite continued care, Priyanka was declared brain dead on the night of May 7.

The speed and severity of these events have left her family and friends in complete shock. Priyanka was known for her fierceness, resilience, and warm-hearted nature. She never hesitated to help those around her and inspired everyone with her strength and determination.

How You Can Help

This GoFundMe campaign has been created to support Priyanka’s grieving family by helping to:

1. Cover the costs of transporting her body to India, so she can be laid to rest in her hometown among loved ones.

2. Pay off her education loan, which now remains a heavy burden on her parents and elder brother, who rely solely on farming for their livelihood.

Her family is unable to manage these unexpected and overwhelming expenses on their own. Your generous contribution—no matter how big or small—will directly help send Priyanka's body home and ease her family’s financial hardship during this heartbreaking time.
