My mom, Priscilla Peguero, was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer- Stage 1, tumor 1a and 1b. The cancer was found in two places, the duct and the lobule; both are hormone positive. I am creating this GoFundMe in order to ease the financial burden and allow my mom to focus on her healing. We are fortunate to have insurance, but there is only a certain percentage being covered, and the out-of-pocket expenses are approximately $9,000. As medical bills and treatment expenses approach, any donation makes a difference.

If you know my mom, you know she isn’t someone who slows down. She works not one, not two, but three jobs just to make sure everything gets done and everyone is taken care of. She also is a full-time nursing student. And on top of that, she’s my mom. As her daughter, it’s scary and overwhelming watching someone I love face breast cancer. This diagnosis has shown me how fortunate I am to have her as my mother, it was something we weren’t prepared for, but I know she is strong and will be just fine. She has always taken care of me no matter the time and place, so I want to do everything I can to help take care of her now, so I’m creating this fundraiser- because she deserves the same love.

Update - My mom went in for surgery on June 2nd. Dr. Louis Rivera performed a lumpectomy and four lymph nodes were removed. Pending pathology results, the plan will be for radiation to follow. Her nurses, CC, Lucy, Shiloe, and Tierra took care of her so well. Her anesthesia provider, Meagan, and interop team Lauren and Qesse. Thanks to every single person at Scripps Mercy Surgery Center that took care of my mom.
