Support Priscilla as She Heals

Donation protected
Dear Friends and supporters of Priscilla near and far,

In July last year, Priscilla fell hard in her backyard and twisted her leg, and she's been having trouble with intense pain ever since. Unfortunately, due to the need to work and survive, she didn't initially slow down enough to heal properly. In March, just when it was getting better, it got re-injured! Despite this, she eventually started to work more again, because she wanted to do and make things she loves, and also she needed to recover financially. But then, in mid-July this year, she overextended herself once again. Since then, the leg/nerve pain is healing super slowly, or not at all. She hasn't been able to sew or work and so she's had to cancel a lot of jobs, opportunities, and upcoming projects for August-November.

The doctors even now are on the fence - they don't know if it's a leg thing, a back thing, a muscular thing, a nerve thing, or what. They're just trying some treatments and seeing what works. What they do know is that the recovery has to be slow, and that means no work, and the no-work-zone is extremely financially stressful.  She freelances as an independent contractor and generally makes work plans a month or so in advance sometimes; the long recovery means she can't add any new job to her schedule in the near future. All Priscilla has the capacity for right now is resting. She can't sew or work or do much of anything.

We are asking you all for your financial support, so that this time around she can truly take the time and space she needs to heal without being stressed about making money for basic needs. It's hard to know when she'll be able to go back to work, but we're guessing around 3 months at this point. Money you donate will go to general cost of living, as well as costs for the various treatments and physical therapy that she needs.

As you all know, Priscilla is an extremely hard working, loving and passionate person. We need to give her the support she needs so that she can get back to creating, farming, mentoring, and being an active member of all the communities that she gives so much of herself to. Please give what you can!
