Support Pretty Bitter's August Tour & LP #3

Donation protected
**UPDATE!!**
We went on tour!! And you helped make it happen!!

In August we rented a car and drove the cumulative 2,000 miles through the Midwest. We were lucky enough to play shows we'll never forget in Charlottesville, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Madison, St. Paul, Chicago, and of course our forever love, DC - and you were a part of it.

With tour behind us, and while picking up extra shifts to make this shit work, we are so excited to tell you about our plans for 2024.

On the docket is a third album slotted for release in mid-late 2024, a few fun festival announcements down the line, and a secret third thing we'll get into more later. In February of 2024, we are traveling to Chicago, IL to record [SECRET THIRD THING] with [PART OF THE COOL SECRET] and some of our long-standing favorite musicians at Storm Chasers, LTD, and later in the year, releasing our third full-length unto the world. We still need your help to make that happen.

We want to make sure you get something fun out of it, so we have things to tell you.

Every single person who has donated thus far and every person who does in the future is invited for an in-person album listening party 1 month before LP3's release. If you're in a different city and don't want to miss out, no worries! You'll get a personalized link to the album :)

*Special bonus: If we hit our full goal, Mel will shave their head and donate their 24 inches of hair at said listening party :P XD

We're super antsy that we have to wait to share the music we've been working on with you, but we're trying to be patient. We believe these songs deserve the most solid release they can get. We want as many people to hear them as possible.

(plus we all wanna see what mel looks like without their hair)

We want to make clear that no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made- besides going along with us on this journey :)

In case we haven't met, we're Pretty Bitter, a queer 5-piece indie rock outfit based in Washington, DC (with the exception of our two beloved straight boys.)

Over the past seven years of making music together, there have been lineup changes, physical relocations, and a name change, among other significant evolutions. We have been self-managed, self-represented, & booked by-self for the 300+ shows we've played in the course of those 7 years by Mel (they/them) & Miri (she/they,) including an East Coast/ Midwest Tour we were lucky enough to embark on in August of 2023.

Those same shows began in rooms with a steady average of 15 people (usually less) and have grown to 1,200 capacity venues through that work. We have been lucky enough to share the stage with bands we ourselves are fans of, supporting national headliners such as Sunflower Bean, The Ophelias, Melt, Hotel Mira, The Zolas, Bad Bad Hats, Their/ They're/ There, and many more. We have been profiled multiple times by The Washington Post, New Noise Magazine, Washington City Paper, and District Fray, among others. Having released our sophomore album in June of 2022, and after playing the legendary 9:30 club twice before the end of last year, we are beyond excited to take our next step forward.

While we wish we could do all of this on our own, the majority of us work service and teaching jobs, and because of that, our most critical conflict is resources.

We dedicate each free moment to the progression of this project and are wholeheartedly invested, with each bit of extra money going to merchandise, travel, and promotional material. The commonality that brings us together in every moment of our spare time is the music we make with one another.

We understand that a goal of $12,000 is lofty, but we have a plan.

Your contributions will support:
  • Tour-related costs for our "No Worries!" August Tour. ✔️
  • Paying the newest member of our team, the inimitable Jackie Codiga, for all her brilliant work.
  • Merchandise stocking for travel and hometown shows.
  • Vinyl pressings of our upcoming 3rd album.
  • The travel to and recording of [REDACTED] at Storm Chasers, LTD in Chicago, IL in February of 2024.
  • Much more :)

We urge you to listen to our music, get a feel for the community we are trying to help cultivate in our city and beyond, and come along on this journey with us if you believe in this project as much as we do.
