For those who don't know him, our Head Road Captain, Preston "Gadget" Mahan, is in the hospital due to an infection in his foot.
They had to amputate his pinky toe and part of his foot.
Preston is the one who is always there when you need him.
Preston is in a serious financial crunch as well as needing work done at their home to make it accessible. A few volunteers went out to build a ramp and deck but had to stop due to the weather. It is estimated the ramp and deck alone will cost over $1500. He won't be able to work for a while, so he'll need funds for food and for insurance deductibles.
Preston Mahan update (from Darla): The surgeon came in and told Preston what he did, what to expect, and hope we don’t have to do more later. Another doctor came in and told us the culture is growing and still growing! So far, it showed 3 different bacteria are growing. Said probably go home tomorrow but will be a busy morning with coordinating everything and making sure the right antibiotics are given!!
