Our sweet boy Zayn was born 14 weeks early on 4/6/25 at St. Rita’s weighing 2lbs 11oz and 14.28 inches long. Unfortunately, he was transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus just an hour after entering this world. Being only 26 weeks and 5 days old, he was put on a bubble CPAP to help his lung development, and he had an OG tube that he gets his feeds through. He’s still on both of these, with his oxygen levels at 25% and his bubble CPAP pressure at 8, and is currently getting 42 mls of milk through his OG tube every 3 hours.

We’ve been able to stay with my sister some days during the week, who only lives 30 minutes from the hospital in Columbus, but we still have been driving back and forth from Lima to Columbus for doctor’s appointments, keeping up on our house, and taking care of our dogs. Rodney is still working some days during the week, so driving back and forth has been taking a toll on us. Zayn is expected to be at Nationwide until at least his due date, which is 7/8/2025. We will continue to travel almost 2 hours between Lima and Columbus 2-3 times a week for at least the next 8 weeks while he stays at Nationwide and continues to grow and all of his follow-up appointments after he comes home. All the driving has been piling up on us. All funds will be used for gas and food for our many more trips to come.
