Support & prayers as Erik fights cancer

Hi, I’m Kristin Hoyt and I first met Sarah Oldberg as my young life leader in high school 20 years ago, and then we became close friends. My husband Tim Hoyt went to boarding school in High school with Erik Oldberg in Cameroon Africa, so to say we’ve both been friends with them for over half our lives would be just the tip of the iceberg.

 

Knowing Erik and Sarah is knowing people who care, who love well, serve their neighbors, sacrifice for Gods work in other peoples lives. They pour themselves out.

 

Erik was just diagnosed with colorectal cancer. With the Oldbergs’ permission I’m starting this gofundme so that they can be loved and cared for in a very tangible way.  Gofundme keeps a fee of 2.9% and the rest will go to Erik and Sarah to cover anything from gas to and from KU Med, hotels, babysitting, food, copays, dietary changes, etc, to potential loss of work and income due to surgery, radiation, and chemo. I’m starting the goal at $50,000 because we all know that money can disappear quickly when it comes to cancer. Add in the potential loss of income and this could become a very significant financial burden. Consider helping our friends in this time of need so finances can be the last thing on their mind.
