Our Beloved Posey Needs Your Help!

Posey isn't just a pet; she's family. She bounded into our lives and adopted us in May of 2022, a bundle of joy at about two years old. In the three years since then, now around five, she has been my constant, joyful companion. From conquering mountain trails and splashing in rivers while hiking, to swimming in lakes, joining me on fishing trips, and sharing adventures camping under the stars – from the highest peaks to the sandy beaches, Posey has always been there with me, and for me. Her tail never stops wagging when I come home, and her excitement is infectious whenever I say those magic words: "Come on, let's go!" (I'll be sharing some of our favorite photos of her adventures with this post so you can see what a special girl she is!)

That's why it's so heartbreaking to see her like this. About four weeks ago, Posey suddenly started limping on her right front leg. We hoped it was a minor sprain, and our vet initially suspected a pulled muscle or tendon, prescribing anti-inflammatory medication. We saw some improvement, and our hearts lifted. But that relief was short-lived. Just a day later, I came home to find Posey in significant pain, unable to put any weight on her leg at all.

A second trip to the vet brought stronger pain medication, which again seemed to offer some hope. However, a few days later, alarming swelling appeared in her shoulder and leg. X-rays were taken, revealing an abnormality, but a clear diagnosis couldn't be made. Our local vet has done everything they can and has now referred us to a specialized facility in Medford. Posey urgently needs a more comprehensive examination, including further X-rays and an ultrasound, to uncover what's causing her distress.

We're humbly asking for your support to fund these vital diagnostic tests so we can understand what's wrong and get Posey the treatment she desperately needs to get back to her happy, adventurous self – running, playing, and exploring with us once more.
