Support Porter's Fight Against Neuroblastoma
Donation protected
Porter Kellum was recently diagnosed with Olfactory Neuroblastoma. Over the last 6 months, he and his family have had to deal with, process, and prepare for what most consider their biggest nightmare. From the initial symptoms, to blood transfusions, surgeries, treatment plans, and all of the unknowns in between, it has been amazing to watch the Kellum family take it all in stride, as they rely on each other, their faith, and the faith of those around them.
Porter is a really smart kid who asks his parents and his doctors good questions. He understands exactly what is going on. It has been both inspiring and equally heartbreaking to watch him deal with something that is scary for anyone to consider, let alone a 13-year-old kid. While there have already been many miracles in Porter's story, this cancer journey is far from over. He started radiation therapy this week, which marks a new point in his fight against this tumor.
Try to imagine for a moment facing medical bills that are seemingly endless, but necessary for your child’s cancer fight. Not only is this tumor malignant, but the chances of secondary cancer are high and Porter will be watched closely throughout his childhood. It brings continuous parental stress and worry both emotionally and financially...
My sister and her husband are not those who easily ask for help or handouts. They never complain. So when my sister mentions the need for them to have a separate savings account for Porter, for future cancer treatments, among other worries (including Christmas for their other young kids), my heart breaks.
Please consider helping to offer some financial relief for the Kellum family as they now tackle the financial burden that comes with this diagnosis, as well as continuing to provide for their family of 6. Thank you so much for all of the love and prayers offered.
We love you, Kellums! You've got this, Porterman!
