Poor Poppy ingested a severely toxic amount of xylitol - an artificial sugar alternative that is a toxin to dogs. He is currently in the emergency vet in critical care being monitored for signs of liver failure and hypoglycemia. They are keeping him on a constant drip of IV fluids, liver protectants, and most importantly sugar to make sure he doesn’t have seizures or collapse. The first 48 hours are the most critical, and we are thankful to have an amazing vet staff caring for him around the clock, but that level of care is also costly. We would greatly appreciate any kind of contribution to Poppy’s continued intensive care during this time❤️
