My name is Pamela, and I’m the granddaughter of Palmer (“Popi”).

On November 22nd, Popi suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that caused him to lose all control of his left arm and leg. After a few falls and a week in the hospital, he was moved from the ICU to an intensive rehabilitation facility, where his determination and grit truly shined.

Through countless hours of physical and occupational therapy, Popi has worked incredibly hard to regain movement. His left arm has shown great improvement, but his left leg continues to be a challenge.

Today, December 11th, Popi was released from the rehabilitation facility and is now home. He’ll continue his recovery with home health care and will need several modifications to make the home safe and accessible — including ramps to enter the house, handicap bars in the shower, and other supportive equipment.

One of the biggest needs is an Etac Clean Rolling Shower/Commode Chair — the same type he’s been using in rehab. Unfortunately, it’s not covered by insurance, and the cost is $750. With our family taking significant time away from work to care for Popi and Noni, this expense is difficult to manage.

We would be forever grateful for any help toward purchasing this chair and making the necessary home modifications to enhance Popi’s safety, comfort, and quality of life during his recovery.
