Support Poe's Gentle Journey Home

Hello,

My name is Hayden, and the cat is Poe. My best friend of 16 years, and his health is starting to decline. The issues we are experiencing are breaking my soul; I don't like to see him suffering. It feels as though he has more time, but his issues are making us think otherwise, "teeth and infection, kidney failure, pancreas issues, reappearing heart murmur, IBS, and the most recent not eating or drinking". Which is purely due to tooth pain, which are vet said he would not make it through a surgery to fix. So, we decided he would be on antibiotics till his final days but know it's a struggle to get anything in him. We are making the chose to euthanize him by codapet, within the next few weeks or days based on how quickly he goes more downhill. The procedure will be done at home and will hopefully bring me and him more peace during his final moments. Rather than going to our normal vet which will make him stressed out and unhappy. As much as this choice rips my very being apart, my family needs the help because were already struggling to get by. Poe deserves the best because he's always been there for me and my mental health. Growing up with no dad, struggling with bullies, self-image, depression, and thoughts of self-harm. He has always been the light at the end of the tunnel for me. I need this to go smoothly, because the ache will already be too much. So please and thank you from the bottom of my heart, help us get through this with a gentler hand.
