Support Plum's Fight for a Healthy Life

When we first saw Plum, we were looking through a selection of kittens at a rescue center. We heard a loud crying- the most annoying cry you could ever hear coming from a tiny black tabby. Both Sabian and I looked at each other and knew that this little yapper would be the perfect guy for our small family of 3. Our cat Peaches grew to love little Plum, who would torment her all day. They chased each other around our apartment and snuggled with each other when they were all done.

Every day it was a new adventure with little buddy. Finding which house plant he got into today, or which countertop we would find him on after getting home from a long day of work.

But since we've had him, he's been struggling. He's been occasionally drooling, not eating, lethargic and depressed. We've taken him to over 5 vets and each one of them tells us something different. Finally, after trial and error with so many medications over the course of these past 5 months, we took him to the ER, following our hearts.

What they found was heartbreaking. A possible liver shunt, which will be confirmed with a bile acids test in the coming days.

If he does have a liver shunt, medical management can be done, but is only a temporary solution which does not solve his issue. A surgery would need to be done, which can range from 5-7k, after a CT scan, which has not been done yet. This surgery has unreal complications, which can lead to neurological issues, gastrointestinal issues, and a lot of cases death. If we end up having access to this money, we might try and go through with it if necessary.

He is the best kitten I have ever had, and I am heartbroken. I wish I knew exactly what to do. We will be monitoring him with his medicine, eating patterns, and possible future treatment plans. But for now, it unfortunately looks like this little buddy will need to be put to sleep in the coming months.

We are asking for help with the ER visit fee. We have just had a major move and a really scary housing situation, and we are desperate need of help right now while we get back on our feet.

We love this little guy so much. He's the best kitten I have ever had, and it hurts me to see him go through this. He loves people, he loves everyone he sees. He's so full of love and I truly hope, life. Please help us give him a chance.
