Hi! I'm Shasta Olarte from Oakland, Ca. 

Unfortunately, my sister and her family lost their home and jobs in the Camp fire, on Thursday, November 7th. I'm lucky enough to be able to support them with temporary housing! 

We are rallying friends, family, and strangers to support them in their journey to rebuilding their lives. They did have excellent home insurance but that does not cover everything. 

Things that are not reimbursed are - which we'll use these funds to cover. 
Lost income 
Food 
Clothing 
Travel related expenses e.g. driving to and from our home (Oakland) back to the Chico area 
Pet food and other supplies
Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.)
Loss of vehicle

It is impossible to describe losing everything in your life. It is a sobering experience. One that I hope will bring communities closer together.
