Hey Everyone,
My name is Mira and my kitten's name is Pip. Pip is super sweet and loves cuddles. Every morning, right when I wake up, he comes to greet me (almost like he is telepathic or something). He loves to play, he loves to eat my sibling's food they left out for a moment, and he loves to get lost in bags (his favorite are Walmart bags).
I am a college student who struggles with depression. Pip has had a major impact on my life and I love him so much. While writing discussion board posts and essays, he roams around tackling something new, being so carefree, that he makes life feel a little less overbearing.
I named him after the main character of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Pip in the novel goes through adventures and hardship, and unfortunately right now, my Pip is going through a tough time.
When I got him, I knew that having a pet is a big financial responsibility and I felt confident I could provide him with the proper love and care he needs.
Sadly, over the past 36 hours or so, he has not been himself.
This morning he didn't come to greet me, he didn't eat his food, he wouldn't even come for treats; which he usually doesn't give me a chance to simply get out of the bag before trying to get at them.
He was hiding, and once I found him, Pip hardly moved.
I immediately took him to the vet. It turns out, he has a urinary obstruction. This can be caused by a few different things, but hopefully, it's nothing fatal. They have to run tests and do procedures (such as inserting a catheter) to help treat my little guy. He is staying over at the hospital for at least a few days.
The estimated cost of all this is $5,383, but it could possibly be more depending on what's wrong.
Although I have a job, with college, living, and transportation expenses, I don't have the money. I couldn't even pay this amount for myself!
Please, if you can, help me pay for Pip's health. He is only a year old and way too young to be dealing with such extreme issues. I don't know what I would do without him. Thank you for reading all of this, I know it's a lot. I really need help. Pip really needs help.
