Donation protected
For those of you who have met our sweet pup Piper, you know how much she loves people, water, and playing. Over the weekend, we were playing fetch in the backyard, she slipped in the wet grass and took a hard fall, tearing the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) in her left leg. The CCL is equivalent to a human's ACL and is vital to stabilizing the knee. Piper has been hopping around on her right leg, trying to keep weight off of her left leg as much as possible. Since she's already torn one CCL, there's a 50% chance she will injure the other leg within the next 6 months.
After consulting two vets, our best option is to schedule Piper for TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. This surgery is highly effective and will give Piper the best shot at continuing to do the things she loves. The cost for this surgery varies between $3,000-$6,000, which is a difficult amount to be prepared for. Please share and consider donating if you can.
