Support Pinky's Fight Against Brain Tumor
Donation protected
My name is Marie, and I am raising funds for my best friend and beloved family member, Pinky, a miniature schnauzer who was rescued from a difficult past. On February 12th, 2025, Pinky suffered a severe grand-mal seizure, which led to an emergency visit at Blue Pearl ER. A neurology consultation at UF Small Animal Hospital followed on February 19th, 2025, where it was recommended that Pinky undergo an MRI. The MRI was completed on March 13th, 2025, and revealed that Pinky has a brain tumor. He was given a life expectancy of only 6 to 100 days without surgery.
On March 20th, 2025, Pinky underwent successful brain tumor surgery at UF Neurology. The surgery went incredibly well, and Pinky has been given at least another one to two years of life. To me, Pinky’s life is priceless, and I am so grateful for every extra day we get to spend together.
The medical expenses have been significant, and any support towards his ongoing care is deeply appreciated. Pinky will need to continue MRIs every six months to monitor the tumor’s progression or remission.
A little about Pinky’s past: He was adopted on April 26th, 2019, at the age of about 7. Before being rescued, Pinky was used for breeding in a backyard puppy mill in Georgia, where he lived in a crate for his entire life. He was rescued along with over 600 other dogs. When he first came into my life, Pinky had to learn everything from scratch—grass, dog beds, couches, toys—and was understandably traumatized. Because of his past, Pinky has always struggled with anxiety, which we manage with Prozac and lots of love. He shares his home with his three adopted siblings: Kermit the pit bull, Fozzie the wire-haired pit bull mix, and Rooster the basset hound.
Your generosity will help Pinky continue to live a happy and healthy life, and we are so thankful for your support.
