My 14-year-old cat, Pika, has been struggling with diabetes for a year and other medical issues. He recently developed Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and a UTI, requiring immediate hospitalization and close monitoring. DKA is a life-threatening illness if not treated promptly. Luckily, we were able to get Pika to the animal hospital, and he is being monitored, but we are unsure how much everything is going to cost between all of the blood work, insulin, electrolytes, fluids, and medication in addition to his hospital stay(s). We spent about $3k over the last year on medical bills and insulin to try to manage his diabetes. I know this hospital stay and new insulin is going to be more expensive. Any amount of support is GREATLY appreciated and will go directly to paying off his medical bills and keeping him comfortable. Thank you in advance for reading this and caring about our sweet boy.
