Our beloved neighbors at Pieces of Heaven have been a part of the Barnyard for over 35 years, bringing joy to our community with their ice cream, treats, and kindness. Sadly, they are now facing some very difficult times.

Just this week, they suffered a sudden and unexpected loss of over $1,000 worth of ice cream when their freezer stopped working overnight. This comes on top of heavy personal challenges. Peggy, the owner, is dealing with serious health concerns and ongoing oncology visits, while also caring for her husband, who is 85 and experiencing declining health.

Despite their resilience, the weight of these challenges has been overwhelming. They have even considered taking out a loan on their home just to keep going, which is a huge and stressful step at their age.

We are hoping to raise funds not just to cover the loss of product, but also to help Peggy and her husband hire some help. This would allow Peggy to attend her treatments without worrying about the shop, giving them some much-needed peace of mind.
