Once upon a time, my father was struggling day to day with dementia and the beginning of Alzheimer's. At the time, my mother and brother, Wyler, who had moved in to help with aging parents, decided to get my father a little bitty Chug (Chihuahua & Pug mix) puppy, who was the only one from the litter who pranced over to happily greet them. Mom said, "Why, you aren't any bigger than a pickle!" Thus came the name he was given... "Pickles." He very quickly became my father's literal constant companion. Pickles brought great happiness & renewed vitality back into Dad's life.
It wasn't long after that, my youngest brother passed from a heart attack. One year later, my father passed. With much grief and a short time later, my mother also passed, leaving Pickles an orphan. Because of where I live, I was unable to provide a new home for Pickles. One of my dear friends, Norma, who has always had an enormous heart and love for all animals and especially doggos, adopted Pickles, thus providing a loving home for him.
Over the last few years, Pickles has developed a severe issue with his eye, which has progressively worsened and now must be removed. The cost for the operation is $1010, of which she is financially challenged in meeting. Norma has also adopted and cared for other pets, which have also recently required some much-needed medical attention.
I am asking if any of my friends and animal kid parents would be willing to help Pickles get this much-needed surgical procedure. Of course, I will be contributing to help offset the cost, but in the interim, asking for some friendly financial assistance, in any amount, to help Norma get the surgical help that Pickles desperately needs. He is a very loving puppy dog. If you ever visited his home, he made it absolutely clear you were there to see him and no one else. Pickles truly loves everyone.
Although I live 3 1/2 hours away from where this fund has been established, I have set it up for the Louisville area, because that is where Pickles shares his home with Norma and where he will be able to receive the medical care. In advance, I am offering my heartfelt "Thanks" for not only taking the time to read this, but considering any monetary contribution and again, in any dollar amount.
