Hello brothers, alumni, parents, and friends!
My name is Matt Zdanowicz and I am the treasurer of the Alpha Eta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Florida. We are requesting donations that total up to $5,000. This would allow us to fund a new basketball hoop in hopes that we can take back the throne of being Greek Intramural Basketball Champions once again. Last year, our team made it to the semi-finals and is hoping to bring home the title this year.
The current basketball hoop in the backyard has seen better days, to say the least. It is a plastic backboard at a height that is not regulation. It needs to be replaced about every 2 years because it is not built to last. The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha are putting in efforts to raise money for a basketball hoop that will allow us to perfect our practice on a goal that would maximize our potential.
This new hoop is the most durable on the market and is built to last through every condition. The current basketball hoop is used every day by the brothers, and a new one would attract athletic new members and increase the physical fitness and skill level of current brothers. Basketball is a way for us to bond, stay active, and foster brotherhood. Whether it’s friendly pick-up games or just blowing off steam after a long day of classes, the court is where we come together.
We would be able to host more basketball tournaments with other fraternities and sororities across campus and make the Pike house a central location for high-level basketball.
The requested amount would cover the cost of the hoop itself, shipping and taxes, as well as the cost of a professional installation. With your help, we can take the Athlete in Scholar, Leader, Athlete, Gentleman to new heights at the University of Florida. Thank you for your time and consideration in reading. Phi Phi!
